I have prepared 5 financial education lessons for children to teach at home, because financial education is not taught in schools. I don’t think it will be taught anytime soon. Thus, financial education for children falls under the responsibility of parents.
Now you can provide financial education to your child, as books and materials on financial education for children have begun to appear.
I am working on a new material for your child: worksheets. Mărunțilă and Bancnoțilă want to be your child’s companions on his or her journey in financial education and have come up with a new project. To support us, we need your pre-order and the visibility you can give us by sharing this project.

Financial education for children – a new education
Among the “educations” for life, financial education is a pioneer. In addition to civic education, nutrition education, ecological education and many other educations that we need, financial education has emerged as a need for the future responsible management of money.
Money is part of life. Money is not made hard, it is not made only by those who come from a rich family, and it is not little if you know how to manage it. But how do you do all this when you have these beliefs and you did not receive financial education as a child, because it was not taught at school.
Even now, financial education is not taught at school, but the responsibility of the private sector is to provide all that education that did not exist traditionally.
Financial education is a need from the perspective of financial independence, both in the labor market and personally. If you are a parent, I do not think you want to have a child who does not have chances or prospects. You want an independent child, responsible for his money and capable of achieving his financial goals. Invest in yourself!
The future seems bleak if you don’t invest in yourself, in your personal development, including your financial one.
If you don’t achieve your financial goals such as: your own home, your pension, the state will no longer do it because it doesn’t have the necessary resources.
Democracy also came with the freedom to act, to create your future, not just with freedom of expression. Now you are free to live your life the way you want.
You can invest in yourself and in your child’s future to have this example of independence.
However, if you haven’t had financial education, now you have the opportunity for your child to give him financial education and get used to it too or to know how to do it for him. Maybe you are already financially independent or on the road to independence but you don’t know how to approach this topic with your child, you don’t know if it is appropriate to talk to him about money now.
5 lessons on financial education for children
All the lessons about money that you have learned over time can be offered to your child now, based on the contexts of his development and the need to learn.
Your child, depending on his age, has certain interests and can support a certain amount of information, as well as a certain way.
Lessons that you have learned about money:
- how money appeared
- what is money
- how to earn money
- how to manage money
- how to invest
How do you provide financial education to your child?
If your child is of preschool age, he needs playful contexts in which to learn. Play is the main activity. Stories, visits and practical activities will pique their interest and help them learn without even realizing they are learning.
If your child is of school age, then their main activity is learning; they love to learn and are drawn to academic activities. Now you can focus on complex activities, but don’t forget to keep the playful nature, for the ease of information.
How does the child learn? Through imitation. That’s why you should be careful what you do, not what you say. And they learn emotionally. They are more likely to retain information transmitted by you than by a teacher. They have an irreplaceable emotional connection with you.
The materials you use in your child’s financial education
Now comes the most painful part. We don’t have materials with which to educate our child financially. In our country, this type of education is not recognized and that’s why you have to “embellish” materials.
To avoid having to cram materials to teach your child about money, we have created a material for preschool and primary school children (7-11 years old): worksheets: “Mints and Bills”.
The “Mints and Bills” worksheets emerged from the need to educate children financially at home.
They are two ebooks that allow printing to reuse them from one year to the next.
What do they contain?
- Methodical guide
- Psychological characteristics of child development by age stage
- 5 financial education lessons for children
- Story/poem at the beginning of the chapter, respectively of the lessons
- Sheets presenting the concept transmitted
- Sheets with tasks for learning the financial concept(s)
- Sheets with tasks whose purpose is to assess the degree of learning of the concept transmitted
Number of pages: 183 pages (preschool level) and 250 pages (school level). Full color pages.
Product benefits:
- It is designed by a teacher with dual specialization: primary and preschool education and financial consultant.
- Being on age level: preschool/school, the images are appropriate for the age category: 3-5/6 years and 6-11 years, taking into account the methodology of teaching a subject and the levels of the psyche involved in learning.
- It is printable to use the sheets in subsequent years.
- It may be, and even is advisable, that in subsequent years the sheets within the age level be reviewed to reconsolidate the information and concentrically learn new aspects of financial education. If the child is 3 years old and you go through the worksheets with him, the following year those concepts that were not learned at the age of 3 will be learned then. It is possible, and it is normal, that at 3-4 years old the child does not check all the tasks, which is why the material is designed to be revisited.
The lessons transmitted by these worksheets are 5 for preschool children and 6 for school-age children.
The financial education lessons are:
– Barter
– Money (what it is)
– Work (how to earn money)
– Needs and desires
– Saving
– Investing
– Philanthropy
