Invest in yourself! How? Read!
Have you invested in yourself? How many times have you bought financial education books, read them and not earned more money? Have you bought books on how to become rich or taken courses on investments, invested and lost? Wealth did not come to you?
Invest in yourself!
I have heard this advice all the time: “learn in yourself!”. This advice is often offered when a young person asks for a solution to invest money or develop financially.
Reading gives: opening the mind to that subject, awareness of situations, contexts, you learn that there are things you could do or know what are the skills you need to develop (if you do not have them) to earn more. The idea is that then you have to get to work and do something in that direction. If you just read, you don’t do anything.
You have to act in that direction and be patient, be consistent. But it still doesn’t work, then what do you do? You find that some of the information in the books doesn’t work or you can’t find how to apply it. What do you do?
The consultant or coach – the profession of the 21st century
Invest in yourself! Investing in yourself, in this century, means also attending courses or paying mentors.
If you have read and started applying or see that it doesn’t work, you can get demotivated and the movie starts playing: “I’m no good!”, “it’s not for me”, “I’ll die poor!”. And you start looking on Facebook or other networks and see quotes like: “if you were born poor, it’s not a problem; the problem is dying poor! It’s up to you!” and you think: “ok, but how do I do it?!” and you follow posts and see: “financial coaching”, “coach for your personal development”. Lately there are a lot of coaches who help you develop, evolve. Why?
In this century there is a lot of information. Choosing the best book to help you, the best information or the “secret” is very difficult. In the age of the internet there is a lot of material and some may be perverted by the author’s interest, but most are general.
Foreign books target the economic and financial context of the respective country, which does not apply to us.
In how many of the educational books you read have you learned about investments with a 12% annual return and exempt from profit tax? Have you looked to see if they exist in our country?
Robert Kiosakyi informs readers about many opportunities in the financial market; opportunities that can be used in everyone’s favor and urges readers to inform themselves, to document themselves regarding the existence of facilities in the countries where each comes from and is a citizen.

Did you document yourself after you learned these things? Did you find it?
You may have come across a blog that wrote about an investment or financial product that was classified as “very bad” or “scam” because the author told you that he lost money through that product.
What else to think, what else to do? Do you think you’re no good or do you turn to a coach, a consultant?
The consultant is the one who makes your path easier, creating one for you in a forest without paths or reveals to you the places where it is, giving you a few branches that were covering the way.
Invest in yourself! Invest in books! Invest in consultants!
Well, it is necessary to find out what approach that consultant has. It is necessary for him to know you in order to offer you a solution, but it is also necessary for you to know him.
Now, each consultant or coach has a certain direction that he approaches. Just like a psychologist – the category of psychologists is well defined – you know what a psychologist does, but each psychologist specializes in a certain area and brings solutions from a certain perspective. There is behavioral psychology, Ericksonian, Jungian – named after the psychologists who theorized and validated their research and created viable solutions. There is a small difference between them: in approach and as such you have to resonate with that small difference in approach. The same goes for the financial coach or financial consultant. Otherwise, everyone has to be on the same wavelength.
How does a coach help you to succeed in this jungle of personal, financial development and investment in yourself?
The coach facilitates information for you. It helps you find the beaten path.
We were talking about that investment exempt from paying profit tax. Do you know what it is, have you discovered it? First of all, do you know if it exists in our country?
Yes, it exists and it comes from several companies. Some have very high costs and some perceive it as a “bad” option because they personally do not agree with the conditions or there are even less favorable conditions than those they have identified. But it is not like that everywhere, at all companies.
The fiduciary consultant
For us, an independent consultant is that consultant who is not an employee of a company and offers you a good solution for you, from a company in the market, being objective.
Tony Robbins tells you that it is necessary to look for these fiduciary consultants and to get information from them and to work with them.
With him will you find fulfillment?
Yes! Because he will ask you many things. He will help you identify your motivations, discover yourself and be what you want. Once you have found out who you are, what you want, it is easy for you to analyze whether what he offers you as a solution is good for you.
You have to find your level, your goal, and your motivation.
The problem with books and courses is that they give you motivation, they give you perspective, but all at a general level. A personal coach helps you discover yourself: your motivation, to find your solution; not to go with the flow because maybe it’s not your ocean; your ocean is different.
I want more! I want to be like X! Invest in yourself!
Investing in yourself is not enough. You need to act and have a motivation. You need to analyze what your situation is and where you want to go.
As for the coach, he helps you discover these things and identify with yourself, not with the other. Don’t try to live the life of X or Y. “I want to do like X, Y or have what X, Y has.” No! Because you don’t have the situation of X and Y! You did not live the childhood of X and Y, you did not have the personal and professional experience of X and Y (for better or worse; the direction does not matter). The situations are different and therefore the path is different. Similar perhaps, but not exactly.
Also, your goals must be yours, not those of society, of family or friends, of your entourage. Because you are here to live your life, not someone else’s. That is why it is not necessary to spend or invest because that is what X or Y says or does: “Invest in yourself!”.
“We buy things we do not need, with money we do not have, to impress people we do not like.” (Dave Ramsey) or whom we like😊 But, is it their life or ours? Do you want to live in someone else’s shoes or live someone else’s life, not your own?
Invest in yourself! Does this investment also have risks?
Being an investment, it presents risks. Investing in yourself presents risks. Like any other investment, the risk of investing in yourself presents the risk of stopping to read and that’s it. That’s why eliminate this risk by applying, by acting. The best decision is to act. If it’s not the right path, you can correct it later, but to eliminate this risk – the biggest risk of this investment – act!
Another risk of investing in yourself is to consider that you still have to learn, that you don’t know anything yet and you need to invest in yourself: to buy more books, to attend more or to purchase more courses and stop there. This investment is not an investment, but an expense, from my point of view.
