I set myself the goal: “Smart goals for the New Year!”, because the English are still in vogue now. 🙂
At every beginning we have expectations, we set goals. Every New Year comes with new goals, new ways of doing things; with changes.
Smart goals for the New Year!
Well, if you have long-term goals, now, with the New Year, it is not necessary to change them. Why change your goals if they are the same, the ones that bring you satisfaction? Yes, new, short-term goals may appear on the horizon, but I recommend that they be set when needed, when they appear, not just because it is the New Year.
Superstitions
In many peoples there are superstitions related to both the New Year and different beliefs about setting goals. There are people who do not set goals because they do not want to be disappointed if they are not achieved.
Can superstitions have any real basis?
Most of the time, no. If you have ever set a goal and it didn’t happen, it could be because it wasn’t realistic from the start, because you didn’t take the necessary actions to achieve it, and if you don’t want to set goals anymore because the result demotivated you, it means that you can’t effectively control your emotions.
Emotional intelligence and smart goals for the New Year!
Emotions are with us everywhere because they are part of us. What we have to learn (because we weren’t taught to do it at school or at home) is to manage our emotions. They are the ones that “push us from behind” to do something to achieve our goals, but they are also the ones that sabotage us by not letting us do one more thing if we haven’t had the expected results, demotivating us.
For the New Year, I suggest you set short-term goals, look over your list of long-term goals and charge yourself with confidence and courage to move forward, change your actions, if they haven’t brought you even 1% closer to your goal(s), but be aware of what you did well to keep, change only what didn’t work, but evaluate first why it didn’t work, because it could be your emotions that have held you back, not the strategy used.
Smart goals in your situation
Are you satisfied with your financial situation? If so, write down what you are happy with, if not, write down what you are unhappy with, write on the sheet what you would like to change, what the optimal strategy for change would look like today (even if it’s New Year’s Eve), if you can start applying the new change, do it: it is for you and your future. Today you create your future. Not necessarily on New Year’s Eve, but today – the day you do this introspection and reflect on the life you want to have. This day can be August 31, March 5 or any other day.
The day you put your goals on paper, you started a plan to achieve your goals and you created a strategy; then your year begins: the year to create your future.
I wish you a year in which you fulfill yourself personally, to be much more aware of the financial sphere, to educate yourself: to seek information that will help you maximize your profit and reach the moment when you have achieved your goals, to be filled with boundless joy, to be proud of yourself, because without the years in which you planned, analyzed strategies and persevered, it would not have been achieved.
